Birthday Celebration Templestowe

On Thursday 22nd September we were hired to perform a mini-concert for a client’s sister-in-law’s 60th birthday.

As it was a surprise and there was limited hiding space on the back patio, just twelve members of Côr Bach attended, accompanied by Lorna on the keyboard and led by Lyn Henshall.

As the birthday lady was ushered unsuspectingly out from the kitchen, she nearly spilled her champagne as the Diligent Dozen launched into Happy Birthday in Welsh and English. Compère Drew Hopkins introduced the first bracket of We’ll Keep a Welcome and the rousing Men of Harlech before a Welsh bracket of Rachie, Si Hei Lwli ‘Mabi and Anfonaf Angel.

Bass Geoff Serpell wowed the assembled company with Working Man before Speed Your Journey and The Rose. The final bracket comprised Amazing Grace, What Would I Do Without My Music and the emotional You’ll Never Walk Alone.

The covered patio turned out to have excellent acoustics and all agreed it was a birthday celebration the client would not forget.
